about

Next up on !Organism is Italian maestro Peja with three original tracks, one of which gets remixed by Charlton to make for yet another essential techno offering from this Swiss label.

Constantly on the move within the techno realm, Peja’s music has found its way into the bags of tastemakers like Richie Hawtin and Carl Cox. After a decade in the game he really can speak freely through his machines, and has done so to great effect before now on this label.

‘Glare’ is first out of the blocks and wastes no time in cooking up a cantering techno groove that is run through with sleek industrial synths. It’s a supple banger that functions on a high level. Next up is ‘Square Root’, a Millsian styled techno roller that travels far into the galaxy as sonar bleeps and cosmic dust race by. Last in terms of the originals is the searing ‘Dopamine’, it comes on a little deeper but no less forcefully, with spooky synth motifs and gurgling acid rising up through the mix. It’s an increasingly brain frying affair that really will add freaky vibes to any set.

‘Dopamine’ is then remixed by Dutchman Charlton, someone who has been playing live for more than a decade after studying at one of Holland’s best known music production colleges. His track ‘Black Slong’ was featured on Norman Nodge's Berghain 06 compilation, proving he is a real talent in the techno world. His remix here is a full on wig out with mad and frenzied synths flashing about above brutal and hard hitting drums.

This is another fresh and rewarding techno EP from !Organism that leaves a real mark.
