about

October brings another essential techno outing for the Swiss label !Organism. This time it is Kvest who offers a brilliant brace of tracks while Kitkatone remixes to seal the package in style.

Kvest hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina and is adept at mixing vinyl as well as exploring myriad musical ideas with endless bits of software. Focusing on melodic simplicity and the more atmospheric elements of techno, here the Austrian based artist lays his fresh visions bare and they really suck you in.

Opening the account is "Summil", a spooky piece of work with cantering kicks and slicing, razor sharp hi hats forming the backbone of the groove as creeping synths and wide open spaces really unsettle you.

Kitkatone is a friend of labels like Planet Rhythm, ARTS and Etherwerks and does not mess about with his version. Hard hitting and roughly textured, it is a real peak time stomper that has menace and urgency in its bones.

Kvests other excellent original is "Danna" which is a skipping and increasingly manic cut that has punchy drums and tripped out synths coming at you from all directions. Coarse claps add to the controlled chaos and all together will surely make for a monstrous moment in some big warehouse space.

"Summil" is another top trio of tracks from one of the foremost techno labels of the day.
