about

In the midst of a purple patch of many great consecutive releases, lone ranging techno label !Organism are ready to offer up their next bombs. This time they come in the form of two new singles from collaborative duo Lowkey & Kardinal complete with a remix from respected Italian veteran Alex Di Stefano.

Lowkey is a France based talent with associations to labels like Phobiq, Analytictrail or Respekt whilst Kardinal is another essential French talent. Over the last ten years he has gotten support for his dark techno from tastemakers including Umek and Phil Kieran.

Together the first track the pair serves up is ‘Scaramouche’, a sweeping techno affair with slick, frictionless percussive loops, deep tunnel atmospherics and whispery, shadowy female voices. It’s high-octane stuff that sweeps you off your feet and never sets you down.

‘Scolopendra’ is heavier and harder hitting. Awash with sweeping pads and miniature breaking waves, it surges along a desolate industrial landscape as various distant moans and groans imbue things with a sense of uneasy paranoia.

Alex Di Stefano, the boss of Binary404 and a producer for labels like Sabotage and 1605 Music Therapy, reimagines the track as something a little more kinked and physical. It groans with industrial menace but is smooth and silky at the same time.

This is another fierce release from the !Organism label that continues to see them define the techno zeitgeist.
