Techno titans !Organism add to their vast cannon of dance floor weaponry with a new EP from Ricardo Garduno. On the remix is long standing dub and techno talent Brendon Moeller in his Echologist guise.
Garduno is a Mexican born DJ and producer who blends organic and distorted sounds into his own magical techno form. He can count fans such as Dave Clarke and Dubfire, amongst others, and he puts out his super sonic wares on his own Illegal Alien Records as well as Sleaze, Brood Audio and more.
The titillating title track here is "Wrong Reaction," which is a full fat techno banger with intense and manic melodies, a big wall of drum led sound and frazzled synths all twitching your every nerve as it barrels on. Impossible to ignore, it is a real weapon.
On the excellent remix is New York based South African Echologist, who has put out many seminal LPs and EPs on Wave Music as well as his own label Steadfast. His version is just as intense and hypnotising but is more stripped back, with ice cold synths streaming above boisterous drums that are sure to fill warehouses with arresting sound.
Lastly, the excellent "It's Not You, It’s Us" is another cultured cut that is compelling and full blooded. Full of haunting atmospherics and spooky echo chambers, a big drum line underpins it all as you are kept on a knife edge throughout.
There is lots to love about this EP, and dancers and DJs everywhere are sure to agree.
